    The Imposing INDEX
From my perspective, the INDEX function is the single most important worksheet function in Excel. Now that might be surprising considering the function's humdrum name. So what's so great about the INDEX function? It's nonvolatile, sprightly, agile, and versatile. INDEX can return one value or an array of values; it can return a reference to one cell or to a range of cells. INDEX works well on either side of the three Reference Operators - the colon, the space, and the comma.

2010: Add the date, time, file name, and page numbers to Excel headers or footers (video)
While researching the top search terms and phrases on the Office.com web site, I discovered that just like Word users, many people who use Excel 2010 want to add page numbers, the date and time, a file name, and other text to the header or footer of all worksheets in a workbook. So here's a video I created to help you accomplish this task.

Highly Used Keyboard Shortcuts in Excel 2010
Shortcuts are time savers. It is pretty irritating to be interrupted by constant need to move back and forth the mouse over the menu and ribbons to look for mundane tasks of inserting tables or frequently required actions. There are over 180 shortcuts keys in Excel 2010 for easy navigation. However, not all of them are useful ones. Some of them are for highly specialized use.

Excel:Save a workbook or worksheet as a template

To save time or to promote standardization, you can save a workbook as a template that you can use to create other workbooks. In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, a template file (.xltx) can include data and formatting, and a macro-enabled template file (.xltm) can also include macros.

You can use one of your own templates to create a new workbook, or you can use one of the many predefined templates that you can download from Microsoft Office Online.
